Week 66 in LA--Greeeat News!

This week has gone pretty well so I will just give some cool highlights from the week!

This week I found out that I am gluten intolerant, so now more bread, cereal, etc. 😭

We had a Christmas Devotional as a mission and we had a good meal and took some pictures. The best part was they let us watch a movie. The movie they showed us was Coco, the new Disney movie (well new to me). It was super good!

I also got a transfer call. I have been assigned to be a Zone Leader in the same zone I am in now. I am excited for it!

Have a great week, love you all!

Zach's email home to me (mom):
Hey, I got the transfer call and I will be going to a new area as a Zone Leader. I will be in Woodland Hills Ward which is the same stake as I am currently in. My companion is Elder Leavitt . I am super excited to be with him. So I also have some crazy news to tell you...... So after Thanksgiving at the Norris's I got really sick and I didn't know what it was so I decided to check if I have any allergies. So I stopped drinking milk, then went back and I was fine. So next was gluten. I was off it for a week and then I ate a subway foot long and I got destroyed again with bad diarrhea. So I called the mission nurse and she said that I am gluten intolerant which is crazy. I am pretty shocked still and I tested it again a different day and it's true. So that means no more bread 😂. But other than that I am in great spirits and excited for the new transfer. I love you and yes we have crock pots out here our mission bought a ton of them. So send recipes that don't use gluten!

Week 65 in LA--It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas, Sorta 😆

Hello Everyone! Just like the title says its December and it's snowing back home. But here its a different story! Blue skies and green lawns and trees are all the sights for me! But it is pretty cold out here and I am always wearing my sweaters now. Even though cold is 63°. 😂

This week went really well.

Monday we had a zone p day and then I played soccer the rest of the day!

Tuesday we went proselyting and had a great time eating at Sizzler with some members.

Wednesday we had another great member dinner.

Thursday we had interviews and a temple session. We went down and it was a down pour of rain. We went in the temple with it raining and came out and it was sunny and nice. Then when we left it was raining again. Blessings from the temple! We also got an announcement that President Nelson wants the missions on the west coast to have their missionaries proselyte from 5 pm to 9 pm. So, that means no more member dinners. So if you have any cheap and easy recipes, I would appreciate them!

Friday we were on exchanges with the Elders in my district. We did some service, had district council and a great rest of the day.

Saturday we visited some people we also had members buy us In and Out 2 times.😆😆

Sunday we had a good time teaching a man English.

That's it for my week!

Week 64 in LA--Zone P Day

This week has been pretty good!

So Monday we went and hammocked in Griffith Park again! It was super fun.

Tuesday we had a training to go to about how to teach English classes better. Then we drove back and it took a looooong time.

Wednesday we had English class but no one showed up because of Thanksgiving........🤷‍♂️

Thursday we had dinner with the bishop and it was super good, even though i ate too much, but we had fun.

Friday we had a super good district council and talked about the new zone initiative.

Saturday we were on exchanges and I got to be with Elder Leavitt. We went to a graveyard and we passed out plan of salvation pamphlets

Sunday we went to church and that's about it, we then just proselyted.

Today we had a zone activity and then played soccer with some of the friends!

Overall a great week!

Week 63 in LA--Turkey, Gravy and Kimchi??

This week has gone pretty well. Here it is for you to read 😁

Monday we went to Santa Monica with Elders Montgomery and Dehlin, we played some sports and just relaxed the whole day.

Tuesday we did service as a district and then Elder Jung and I went proselyting the rest of the day.

Wednesday I had a leadership meeting and then we had a great dinner with a less active family.

Thursday we went to English class at the VC and then we drove back up and had dinner and weekly planned.

Friday we had district council and I went in planning on doing one thing but the spirit constrained me and I gave a fantastic training on the power of positivity. It went super well and everyone is now excited. Then we taught a part member family the plan of salvation and the husband is now more cool with us coming over!

Saturday we went to Burbank and cleared up ABP for the Korean Branch. We then had a good time talking with people in the park about the gospel.

Sunday we went to church and we got a person to come! We then had a Thanksgiving luncheon with the Branch, that is where the title came from because they had it all, turkey, gravy, yams, and then kimchi hahaha.

That was my week thanks for reading and God bless you  all 🙏🙏

Week 62 in LA--Fire and Smoke

This week has been super crazy with the fires. We had a total of 6 elders in our apartment. But we are safe except all the smoke. Yesterday we went to the visitors center and saw Kirby Haybourn a famous members fireside it was super good and I got a picture with him. That's all I have to update because proselyting has been slow because of the smoke. See y'all soon.

Week 60 in LA--Transfer Down, Another One To Go

So we got transfer calls and I am staying in Chatsworth with Elder Jung. I am super excited to keep working here!

Monday we went hiking as a district and it was super fun! We also had a great dinner with some members.

Tuesday we did service as a district again and then we went and visited a bunch of people inviting them to the Halloween party. We also helped a person in the sisters ward move furniture for re carpeting.

Wednesday we taught English Class but no one came because our person was gone for the week. 😔

Thursday I had a meeting then we went to the Temple for English Class and we did a bunch of service for a member of our ward who got kicked out of her place.

Friday we helped the person move again and we had District Council and then we called a bunch of people and we had the Halloween party and a non member family came. We got there info and so we are going to work with them hopefully!

Saturday we proselyted and had a great dinner!

Sunday I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting and everyone said it was really good, so I guess it was haha. We then had a lunch with the Korean Branch and then dinner with a nice older couple in the ward 😁

That's my week. I'm still District Leader so I'm excited to work with more cool missionaries!
