Week 54 in LA--나는 이동을 했다 😲😲

I don't think most will know what the title is saying so I will translate it. It says I got transferred! Which is true, after 4 long transfers I am leaving the Wilshire Ward, to become a district leader in the north of our mission. I will be in the Chatsworth Ward and San Fernando 4th branch, the branch is in Korean so It looks like I'm a Korean missionary now!

Another cool thing that happened this week is Olivia got baptized! 😄😄😄 She is so awesome! The baptism went really well and there were a lot of people there to support her. That family is literally apart of my family now. Kyle the dad is now my Cali dad and Olivia is like my little sister/bff hahaha and Julie has always been such a mom. So I will miss them greatly.

District Leader seems like its going to be fun I'll keep everyone posted on it. Have a great week!

I am going to include his email to me (mom) as well. It contains some of the same information but I pressed for some things 😂😂 he didn't include.

Hey Mom! I am doing great! So we had transfer calls last night and I am leaving the Wilshire Ward. I am going to the valley to the Chatsworth ward and San Fernando 4th branch. It's kinda crazy because the San Fernando 4th branch is a Korean Branch so I guess I'm a Korean missionary now hahaha!  I am super sad to leave the Kelleher's they are legit my family now and I love them so much. But I have bigger and better things to do. Also I am a district leader now as well. That's cool that life is well. And yeah. **I asked him his new companions name and what he knew about him**
My companion will be Elder Jung and he is from Korea, that's all I know.

Week 53 in LA--Hey

Hey Everyone this is going to be a quick email because this p day was insane.

So on Monday we went suit shopping I got a suit and yeah.

Tuesday we proselyted and then went on exchanges with our zone leaders.

Wednesday I stayed in the area and we worked hard.

Thursday Elder Guo and I went to English Class and we had District Council.

Friday we weekly planned and had a great member dinner.

Saturday we had a crazy good ward mission party and we also set up another companionships baptism, saw our mission president and had a VC tour with Olivia and her family.

Sunday Elder Guo  and I gave talks and we had an awesome lesson with Julie, Olivia and Kyle. They are like my second family and I love em all. Olivia also passed her baptismal interview so that is happening on Saturday!

Today we ran around crazy and had some fun.

Have a great week.

Elder Cox

Video's sent to me (mom) by Brother Alba (I know you're not supposed to take video in the chapel but I'm not going to lie--it was AMAZING to hear his voice and his testimony.)

Week 52 in LA--Suit Shopping

Zach has been shopping for a new suit. With it being Labor Day, there were some good sales so he spent the majority of his day trying to find the best deal on a suit. He sent me a very small email and promised pictures (that didn't happen) but I think he ran out of time. I will share what he said to me and thankfully, 2 amazing people in the ward he is serving in sent me pictures. ~~Jillene

This week went well. We had another great lesson with Julie Olivia and Kyle, who are practically like my second family at this point. They are super nice and kind. I didn't get a suit yet but hopefully today I'm looking around. Besides that I don't think I need anything else. I'll send some pictures today as well.

Week 51 in LA--Welcome to HOLLYWOOD 😎😄

Hello everyone! Sorry I totally forgot to send out this email last week. Last week wasn't too eventful so here we go.......

Monday we went to Universal studios Hollywood, not the park but their City walk which has cool stores and places to eat. We also went to the Hollywood walk of Fame (I'll be there again today.) We went to a big gift shop called LA LA LAND. It was pretty cool.

Tuesday we did basic missionary stuff and yeah.... 😅

Wednesday we had like 5 lessons in the span of 3 hours and it was crazy in those 3 hours we also went to the temple to do baptism with Angirson a recent convert to the ward. We had a lesson with Olivia who has a baptism coming up super soon 😃😃😃😃 (We set it last Sunday I forgot to mention that 😂). Crazy day!

Thursday we had District Council and we talked about street contacting which is awesome to do. Then we had English Class for Elder Guo, that is always fun to do as well. The senior missionary couple that leads it gives out a single M&M for participation. Hahaha

Friday we did weekly planning and proselighted. That's about it for Friday!

Saturday was probably the coolest day of all, I didn't tell anyone this but our mission was visited by a General Authority! But not just any General Authority, it was the man to become the next prophet. That's right, President Dallin H. Oaks, first Counselor in the First Presidency, came and did a devotional for the CLAM, (California Los Angeles Mission). He was so strong in speaking and I loved meeting him again. He shook everybody's hand and cracked a lot of jokes. We also did a lot of service that day.

Sunday we met in a different chapel because ours is closed. It was a good meeting.

That ends my week. Thanks for reading and sending prayers and love!

God Bless,

Elder Cox😄😄

Week 50 in LA--Hey

I did get the package, the white shirts fit great I'm washing them now. Life here is super busy. Also Julie (Julie lives in the Wilshire ward and Zach and his companion are teaching her daughter) wants me to talk about them in my email. She reminds me of you hahaha! Her daughter's name is Olivia, of all the names, and she is going to get baptized in September--we set her date yesterday. They are a super nice family and they remind me of home. I also feel like I can fit in well with them and they are like already my friends! Today we are going to walk around universal studios so I will be able to answer emails if you want to do that like back and forth type emailing (and we did email back and forth all day and I LOVED it!!).

Love you

Elder Cox

Mom's note--Zach was emailing me all day because he was on the hunt for his sister's birthday present. He was so worried about getting her something (and something she'd like) for her 16th birthday that he didn't have time for a group email. Luckily for me, Brother Alba sent me some pictures on Sunday.

Week 49 in LA--Welcome to the BIG CLAM

Hello Friends,

This week was really busy and pretty fun all at the same time. So........

On Monday we were running around getting ready for transfers. It was so much stuff to do that we forgot to email till like 30 minutes till the cut off, haha.

Tuesday was transfer day so we drove to the Westwood building (behind the Temple) and I dropped off Elder Prellwitz and picked up Elder Guo, he is a funny guy from China. He is still learning English so I feel like an English teacher everyday helping him.

Wednesday we ran around we had a couple of lessons and we worked the area and had a meeting all in the same day.

Thursday we had more lessons and we talked with a bunch of people, our area is huge so we have a lot of people to visit.

Friday we had a long weekly planning session trying to combine two areas into one, then we had more lessons.

Saturday we had to take our car to get fixed and it took 5 hours 😥😥😣. After that we had a good lesson with a recent convert and a good member dinner.

Sunday we went to church, then we taught a lesson had dinner and a FHE all back to back. Then we went to a wonderful VC (visitors center) fireside with another recent convert. Life here is going good and I am having a great time.

I (mom) am going to include a little bit of his email home to me:

I am doing well, this week was really good. Elder Guo is from China. He is really funny and always asks me about English, but I suck at spelling so it's hard sometimes. 😂

Anyway, I now cover the entire Wilshire Ward which is HUGE. We are working with a lot of people now and the work is going great. Life is going quick on this end, I remember last year like it was yesterday. Thanks for taking such good care of me. I am doing better I don't feel much depression anymore. I'm surrounded by good people to help me. Thanks for everything, God bless. Love you.

Elder Cox 😄😄

There were several pictures and videos posted on Facebook that Zach was tagged in. I (mom) contacted the two people who posted and asked for permission to include them here. They were both so nice and gave me permission as well as sent me many more pictures. I am so grateful for them!!

Week 48 in LA--Hey Everybody

It's transfer week again! But before I talk about that, I'll talk about what has been happening.

So, we have been working really hard and not seeing too much success. I am not leaving but I now cover the whole ward with Elder Guo.  That's all I have time for. 😉

Pictures:
1--I (mom) got this from a lady and her husband (who is featured in the picture) that were visiting California from Utah and attended the ward Zach covers.  I LOVE random text pictures!!
2-4--I (mom) am guessing this is his district. When I enlarged the photos, I was able to see that his new companion, Elder Guo is the really short Elder. Other than that I have no idea what is going on in the sequence of pictures but at least he sent some. 😂😉
